Thank you both for posting. This is a real revelation to us. Prior to this post, we did not even know Harriett existed. She was the daughter of Samuel Cable, b. abt. 1800 in Pennsylvania, and Catherine, b. abt. 1807 in Ohio. Her siblings were Elizabeth, Minerva, and Della. Samuel Cable, previously unknown to us, is apparently a brother or uncle of our ancestor, Isaac Cable, b. 10 Sep 1786 in Ballston, Saratoga Co. NY. Isaac Cable's son, William Harvey Cable (b. 16 Sep 1805 NY), was killed by Union forces while running a blockade on the Mississippi River. Another son, Isaac Chauncey Cable (b. 14 Sep 1821 KY), also ran the blockades but survived the war. Many of our Cables were steamboat captains and pilots. William married Nancy Ann Madden. Their daughter, Mary Jane Cable (b. 1835 MO), married Morse Intrepid Maxon (b. 15 Apr 1832 PA) in Massac Co. IL. They were my gr. gr. grandparents. They divorced during the Civil War. The 1880 Massac Co. census shows her as Molley Maxan or Maxam, age 45, widowed or divorced. Morse (aka Morris) had a brother James who married Emma C. Cable. I thought she might be Mary Jane's sister, but I now suspect she is another daughter of Samuel Cable. I don't know yet who Maud Maxan was but I suspect she was the daughter of Emma C. Cable and James A. Maxon. Notify Administrator about this message?
