I strongly believe my husband's great great great grandfather James Boyd Cabler was a sibling or a nephew to Rachel Cabler, daughter of Frederick. I KNOW in my heart my husband's Cablers are connected to this line because he enlisted in the 9th Tenn Cavalry from Davidson Co. TN but we cannot locate the connection. Does anyone know the names of Rachel's siblings and/or the names of Frederick's siblings?
James Boyd was born Dec 3, 1832 and died here in Lauderdale County, AL in May 28, 1906 but he was from around Davidson Co. TN. He fought with or under John Hunt Morgan and therefore later named his son John Morgan Cabler. This may also explain the John M. Cabler in one of the other lines of the same family.
We have been told that his father might have been a Benjamin Cabler who is buried there in the Nashville city cemetery.
Any ideas?
