Wendy,
Sorry I can't make your connection, but I'll give you the list of Rachel Cabler's siblings that I have in my data.I didn't do the research myself, so can't verify the accuracy, but it may give you a clue for other places to look.
I have Rachel's birth as 09 July 1794 in NC and her marriage license bond to John Corbitt as 06 Dec 1808 in Nashville, Davidson Co., TN.I show her death as 18 Apr 1871 in Nashville. The siblings I show are:
(1) Nicholas Christopher Cabler
(2) Davis Cabler
(3) Mickey Cabler (d. 1816)
(4) Christopher Cabler (not certain this one is sibling)
(5) Thadeus Cabler
(6) Hensley Cabler (b. about 1784)
(7) Frances P. Cabler (1784-1845)
(8) John Cabler (1785- ??)
As I said, this is not my research, so take it with a very liberal grain of salt.It may be all wrong.
My own connection to the Cabler's is Frederick's brother, Harvey Cabler, for whom I list 5 children, one of which is John L. Cabler (c.1799-1878).I show Harvey as being born in Culpeper Co. Va, and moving to TN in 1806.
John L. Cabler was probably born in Rockingham Co., NC.Appears he moved to Randolph Co., AR between 1868 and 1869. (established from census records showing birthplaces of children). It's likely he was in Randolph Co., AR when he died.Among his 8 children is Frederick Hensley Cabler (1837-1922), who was born in Nashville, served in Co. B, 30th Reg, Tenn Infantry from 1861-1865.He is my great grandfather and is buried in Witherspoon Cemetery in Polk Co., AR.
I don't know if any of this will help, or if it will only serve to confuse you more.If you have anything on Cablers that you are willing to share, I'll appreciate having it.
