Hello,
Yes I'm a Svendsen, go figure! Many years ago when I was in the depths of searching for my roots I ran into this book and additionally ahistory of the settling of Portage County Ohio. The latter written by Christian Cackler Jr. in the 1870's or 80's. Both a wealth of knowledge. This was at the Allen County Library in Fort Wayne , Indiana. Outside of Washington and Salt Lake this is one of the great geneology libraries in the country. You can actually check these books out in their reading room and copy pages, many of which I have. I felt there were some errors in the first book, but by and large it was an incredible resource for the history of the Cackler family. There is a small country cemitary north of Kent Ohio on Cackler Road that holds the remains of Christian Cackler Jr. and some of his family (maybe 8 graves or so, very well maintained. My line comes from John Cackler son of C. Cackler SR, then Peter, then Lucinda who Married Nathaniel Robinson and begat my Grandmother who married Stephen Guill.Check it out.Regards, Lars.
