Hi,

I am somewhat reluctatant to post this as it will require digging out 35 years of research, but Mr. McNabb has it correct. The Cacklers came from Germany. The Zedikers are the parents of Julia Ann, Christian Sr.s wife. I believe they were from the Palatine region of Germany as I recall. They settled in Lancaster County Pa. near as I can tell by the records. West Virginia was close so it doesn't surprise me that Cacklers ended up there. I have his (Christian Sr.s) siblings names. Christian fought at Falling Timbers near Toledo in the Indiana Wars in 1796 or so. He drew a pension from his efforts, i have his records. Ultimately became one of the first settlers moving into Ohio. I have much of the dispersment of the family going west. Gosh! Yes the Cacklers were Kecklers and so on and so forth. The name was misspelled as so many were at that time. But the mystery is what makes it fun. That's all for now. Thanks.

Regards, Lars Guill Cackler Svendsen
