When Edylene Cackler McGill (1923-1997)wrote her book, much remained unknown. For example:
Julia Ann Zediker was born 1761, chr. as
Juliana Zurcher. Georg Abraham Keckler was the son of Johann Peter Geckeler (or Gackler
Geckler). Abraham Geckler married Margaretha Salzgeber (Saltzgaver). He lived in Lurgan twp Franklin Co Penns.Abraham Cackler (s/o Christian and Julia Ann)married Sarah Earlywine -- these are Amber's ancestors, as well as Edylene's. As for John Cackler: he married Ruth Earlywine in Knox Co Ohio. had ten children. Ruth divorced him in 1845 for adultery with Elizabeth Van Winkel. She was married to Silas Van Winkel. Her dau Susan married Peter Cackler of Lucas Co Iowa. and William Van Winkel married Esther Cackler. John and Elizabeth moved to Knox Co Illinois where he died in 1846, his son Peter was administrator. Ruth and the rest of the family came to Illinois abt 1848. After John Cackler died, Elizabeth went back to her husband, who had moved to Illinois.Two unknown sons, Samuel and Christian Cackler, lived in Green Co Wis.
