Dear Clint, That is quite a mystery story! I appreciate all your efforts. I can't really figure this out. Wm. Ira Cackler married Mary Ann Beliel in 1892 at the Logan Cnty, OK courthouse. Rhoda Cackler, a widow, had a homestead certificate dated June 1894 in Logan Cnty. Also, Mary Ann Cackler had a homestead certificate dated Nov. 1894. This homestead sold in 1894. W. Ira and Mary Ann had my father Claud Wm. Cackler born in Logan Cnty in 1894. Their next child Amanda born Dec. 1896 in Washington, Iowa. According to 1880 Illinois Census Rhoda Stewart was Mother of George Stewart born 1854 and John Cackler born 1870 abd Ira Cackler born 1872. Could she have taken the name of Cackler back by the 1890's or perhaps she was married to the Stewart first, then later married a Cackler and had the Cackler boys whose father died at an early age. Another mystery is the William H (perhaps Henry) Cackler born 1867 in Lucas cnty, Iowa,who is suppose to be the brother of John and Ira but is not on the 1880 Illinois census. Since Rhoda Cackler homesteaded in OK, I think they all went back to Iowa but I can't find where and when she died. What a deal! I wonder if I am from a dysfunctional family? Ha!
