The legal wife was Marie Bourdon, the daughter of Jacques Bourdon & Marie Menard, whom he married May 30, 1695 in Boucherville, Quebec. He probably had an Indian wife as well. My great-grandfather James Cadue used to tell me that I was an Algonquin Indian princess but I have unfortunately disproved that!! Our family has more spellings for Cadieux than most, I think! Everyone chose their own way to spell it and often changed throughout their lifetime. Even on the census for Canada, each one has a different spelling every ten years! I have found: Cadieux, Cadieu, Cadeau, Cadue, Caddue, Cado, Cayo, Cayue, Caddie, Cady, Cadoo

Cadieux's Lament and the Passing of Cadieux are two separate poems about the same event. I have a post back and forth with Ernie, the Cadieux guru I call him! Look in the
message list for it, I posted the Passing of Cadieux.

There is a lot of information online about our Cadieux family, especially in

Good Luck!
