Hi, Nancy,

Iím pretty sure the Joseph Cadieux you asked about on Genealogy Forum was my great-grandfather. He was born in 1875 (died 1935) and was married to Blanche DeMers (my grandmotherís mother). They did have children named Jean/John and Edward.

My grandmother, Rachel Ledia Cadieux, was born in Manchester, NH, in 1901, which makes her 106 (but she is hopelessly senile). She told me about 15 years ago that her parents were from Roxton Pond, QC. Her parents moved to 12 Griffin St. in Derry, NH, when she was young. They had nine children: Rosina, Gabrielle, Rachel, Lucy, Juliette, Germaine, Valeda, John and Edward.

My grandmother left Derry in 1925 and moved to Boston with my grandfather, who is from Nova Scotia. She told me her fatherís name was Joseph Albert Cadieux, however, but that could be a mistake. All the other criteria match perfectly.

John Cadieux, 94, is my motherís godfather as well as her uncle. He still lives in Derry, in his parentsí old house. His phone number is listed.

Edward moved to Florida decades ago after some kind of scandal. I didnít know he had died.

What is your relationship? Are you my cousin?

Michael Fitzgerald
Jacksonville, Florida
