On this site :
http://www.angelfire.com/md3/metis/origin.html

The author claims to be a descendant of Marie Bourdon. He also claims to descend « from a Nipissing (First Nation) woman named Marie Matanakiwan, born at the Ile de Montreal in 1698. Marie's grandmother was an Ojibway from the Sault St. Marie area. Catherine married Jacques Hery II dit Duplante at Oka on 18 Aug 1718. »

Marie Matanakiwan born 1698 was not married to Jacques Héry Duplanty in 1718. Marie (Marie Nicole Catherine) Matanakiwan is indeed a Nipissing woman. She was married to Pierre Héry Duplanty in 1738 (not 1718) in Oka (la mission du Lac des Deux-Montagnes).

Jacques Héry Duplanty was married to Jeanne Dionet in 1733 in Montreal.

I mistakenly said Marie Matanakiwan was « adopted » by Jacques Bourdon, which is not true. My apologies.
