Hi, to give you and others some hope to prove they are Metis - I too am a descendant of Jean Cadieux and Marie Bourdon. I very recently found out that my dying uncle, eldest brother of my mother, who before he passed away finally admitted he had Native American blood which prompted the doctors to take a blood test and found this claim to be true. I am now awaiting the copy of this blood test. Now after checking back into my genealogy for many years, the only Native American indication in our family tree was wife of Jean Cadieux's wife Marie or known as Mehwatta - so having said that unless someone else pops up through our history, she would be it! But I am sure that we who self proclaim to be Metis, know it in our hearts....who we are....all the best to all my cousins and their research. The information I received was surpressed for almost 20 years and finally was revealed to the family.
