My great grandfather was Joseph Caley, born 22 Feb 1845 in England. He married Augusta Owen on 25 Dec 1867 in Rock Island, IL. Augusta Owen was born 25 Dec 1847 in Germany. Joseph Caley fought in the Civil War from 5 August 1862 until 25 May 1865. He was discharged because of wounds he received. He collected a pension from 31 May 1874 until his death and then his wife, Augusta collected the pension beginning 31 Aug 1916. Joseph and family are shown on US census' in Illinois 1880, 1900 and 1910. I have death certificates for both Joseph and Augusta which show that Joseph died on 22 Aug 1916 in Cherryvale, Montgomery County, Kansas and Augusta died on 27 May 1919 also in Cherryvale, Montgomery County, Kansas. The death certificate lists John Caley as the father of Joseph with mother unknown. Both parents for Augusta are unknown. I believe that Joseph and Augusta moved from Illinois to Kansas sometime between 1910 and 1916 to be close to family -- possibly George Cailey. Do you have any information about my Joseph and Augusta Caley? Thanks
