Hi Elsie,
Glad to hear from another CAINES researcher. I'm not only researching for Esther Jones Irby d/o Ollie Jane Caines Jones, but I have a CAINES link myself via my CHAFFIN line. My mother was a CHAFFIN and her CHAFFIN's came from Lawrence Co., KY (my grandfather came to the Wayne Co. area when he was about 4 with his ADKINS grandparents and his mother who was a widow).
My CHAFFIN line goes;
Jesse Hubert CHAFFIN - maternal grandfather
Jesse Marion CHAFFIN - g-grandfather
James Milton CHAFFIN - gg-grandfather
John Chaffin (s/o Simon/Agatha Curnutte CHAFFIN) and his wife CLARISSA CAINES d/o Job/Jobe CAINES.

Hope to hear from you soon. I know the CAINES families were all up and down the eastern KY side from WV.
