no link that I know of to Matilda... but my information is not very complete. She is the daughter of Thomas Cakebread , probably from East London area, married to Mary XXXXXX, from Ireland. I believe they were the generation that immigrated but so far no firm evidence. I find them in the census records.... then lose them by the end of century. there were a few relatives in New York City (Manhatten & Brooklyn).... but I don't have the names on me right now. I do have the 1900 census data for New York state if that would be of any use.
Cakebread is a fairly unusual name, but I have noted that the spelling variations can be enormously different....; Caggebrod..., etc. good luck
