Mandy,

The Joe Calabrese that served in the 561st Field Artillery is still living, but I doubt he is the one you are looking for. He joined the 561st at Camp Kilmer, NJ in April, 1944 just before the unit sailed to Scotland on the French liner Il de France. The earliest this Joe was in England was mid-April, 1944, not 1943. The 561st spent a lot of time at Doddington in England until they went ashore on Utah Beach at Normandy on June 30, 1944.

I don't think this is the right one.
