Kathryn,

Willis Jr. is the son of Willis Sr. (B: 1809 in Amite Co., MS and D: 1850 in Franklin Co., MS) and Dempsey Smith (B: 1814 in SC and D: 1866 in Franklin Co., MS), they were married in ~1829. Willis Sr. is the son of James (B: ~1780 - 90 in SC and D: 16 JUL 1838 in Franklin Co. MS) and Martha Patsy MIDDLETON (B:~1790 -1800 and D: Sept 1844). James is the son of John Calcote Sr. (B: 1742) and unknown mother. James was the brother of my direct ancestor William Cade Calcote. I had already looked up most of the information on Ancestry.com for my ancestors so it was easy to veer off at James. Go there and look up Willis Calcote in the United States, and trace back and forward as far as you can. Hope this helps.

Sharyn Carter
