We moved to New Orleans in 1928, I was 2 years old, my Dad had a cousin living there, Eva Belle Calcote Tisdale. My brother & I called her "Aunt Eva" and her husband was our "Uncle Ben". We lived there about 8 years & during that time my brother & I took music lessons from Aunt Eva: song & dance, piano & saxaphone lessons. It was a delightful time for us. This was part of my inspiration for researching my family name of Calcote, going back to our ancestor, Hercules Calcott, during "Bacon's Rebellion". I then wrote and published my Calcote family history; CALCOTE FAMILY JOURNEY.
I treasure all my Calcote cousins I gained during my research; & still visit with during the Calcote Reunion in Mississippi.
