Mary Jane, In my book, CALCOTE FAMILY JOURNEY, on page 100, I have your Mary Jane Calcote, and yes, she did marry Robert A. Parker. Mary Jane was born in MS on 11 Sept. 1828 to William Cade Calcote & Mary Ellison Calcote. On page 72 of my book, I have a direct copy of the marriage bond of William Cade Calcote & Mary Ellison. While on a trip to Natchez, MS I obtained this copy of the original marriage bond from Amite Co. MS.
On page 71, of my book on the CALCOTE family, is printed the original Land Grant # 1824, to William Cade Calcote & signed by the President of the United States of America, John Quincy Adams, on 10 May, 1826. I obtained this from the General Land Office in Washington, D.C.
In our book, CALCOTE FAMILY JOURNEY, are many of the STUB INDENTS showing the service of John Calcote, Sr in the AMERICAN REVOLUTION. These I obtained from the Archives of South Carolina, because they are not kept in the NATIONAL ARCHIVES in our National Capitol.
This has been a pleasure to share a little history of our wonderful CALCOTE FAMILY.
Your TEXAS cousin, Frances
