Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Vicki, Your ancestor, John Calcote, Sr, served in the American Revolution in the group commanded by Gen Francis Marion "THE SWAMP FOX". Their heroic actions took place in the swamps of South Carolina.
My grand daughters were the first to honor their Revolutionary Ancestor, John Calcote, Sr, by submitting the proof needed to prove his service in the American Revolution.
Many other female descendants of John Calcote are now members of "Daughters of the American Revolution" to honor his life. Their membership is based on his service.
I know that Mary Calcote married Cade Levi Kennedy in Mississippi.
Contact me @ fbrite02@aol.com, tell me which large city is close to you, & I will let you know if I have given a book to their public library. Frances Calcote Brite
