Hercules Calcott signed a petition to the King of England in 1677, asking the King to restore the lands & estate of William West. This was in the time of "Bacons Rebellion" in the Colony of Virginia. William was one supporter of Nathanial Bacon.
Several, including me, have tried to find more about Hercules Calcott, we know the following facts:
he signed the petition; he was married to Susannah; he died before 1685.
We know this because records in Isle of Wight Co., VA mention the fact of "giving a cow and calfe to Thomas, the sone and orphan of said Hercules Calcoutt", this was recorded in 1685.
I would like to find out more about Hercules Calcott/Calcoutt also. Frances
