Hello. This is the first time that I ever done this sort of thing. My computer is only a few days old, but here goes anyway.

As you can see I'm a Caldecott too although my family are the South African Branch.

My father (died 1989) Oliver Zerffi Stratford Caldecott, publisher and artist married to writer Moyra. He was the son of two well known South African painters (Harry Stratford Caldecott and Florence Zerffi)

His family came out from England with Dr Charles Caldecott b.1781 d.1820. Dr Charles (or Chas) was born at Kimbolton Lodge on 24 January, of Susannah Austin and John Caldecott who were married in Kimbolton on 20.09.1176.

That's as far back as I can trace. Slightly more recently there were others such as William Shaw Caldecott who wrote strange books on the dimensions of the arc of the covenant.

I'd love to find out more about this site and other Caldecotts, but for now I have two small children who are seeking attention very loudly!
