Hi,
My name is Rita Calderwood daughter of William Patterson Calderwood who had a brother named John Calderwood. Their parents names were William and Mary. My grandfather, father and his brother John sailed to the U.S. in Oct 1914, John was 11 years old at the time making his year of birth 1903. They sailed from Glasgow but stated there place of residency as Kilwinning, Scotland. My grandmother and two daughters Mary and Jeanette did not come over until Sept 1920. The family settled, I think in Gillespie, Illinois. My father was about 3 1/2 years old when they sailed. Could his brother John be your grandfather? All I ever heard of about my John was that he died young in a train accident, although I don't know if this is actually true. Please let me know if this is the same John. Thanks, Rita Calderwood
