Bob hi I am going to quote some writings here for you in the hope it might do some good, it comes from the "the Calderwoods of Calderwood writen in 1903 by a Thos. Peacock. "The Rev., R.S. Calderwood of Tolbooth Manse, Edinburgh, wrote as follows " I am able to to trace my own branch back to the 17th century. It appears that among the settlers sent over from Scotland to Ulster in Ireland. wa a certain JOhns Calderwood, discribed as a miller from Ayrshire Scotland. This John had two brothers Robert and Hugh whos decentants are in Ayrshire to this day. John had a son Robert also a miller in Ireland. he had atlest three sons-- John,Robert and Thomas. Robert became a farmer near Drumbo, County Down." that is the important information it also says that the family owned the farm up on to fifty years befor the writing of this work. and then was tranfered to another branch of the close family.
