Hi Rosalie! My ggg grandfather was John Calderwood, born in East Kilbride to John Calderwood and Mary Strachhan. He had two brothers, twins....David and Alexander. I finially figured that Alexander was the "Alexander " that would keep popping up as "related to" when I would be searching records.

My grandfather John went on the marry Mary Baird in Eask Kilbride.....they went on to have six children, one named Andrew who was my great grandfather. He married Margaret Rae in East Kilbride, had a family and moved to the US.....the state of Oregon to be exact. One of their sons moved to Canada, married and remained...that turned out to be my grandparents.....they had my mother who moved to the US iin l940. I was born in 1943.

We share the same ggg grandparents. Our gggg grandparents were John Calderwood and Isabella Locke...married in East Kilbride......they had five children that I know of. I may have a line on the Calderwoods before that, but not sure yet.

Boy, I just happened to be on line when your message came up......isn't this fun? Feel free to email me anytime at cathysief@yahoo.com

Cathy
