Hi Carol, I am Darlene's daughter. I just found on the census my GG grandfather Jefferson Caldwell, b. 1836, he married Rebecca Lamb in 1868 in Illinois. She was born 1847. At that time (1880) they had the following children: Mary Ellen age 11, Susan F. age 9(my g grandmother), William H. age 7 and John Alexander age 3. Mary Ellen was born in Il and so was Rebecca Lamb and her and Jefferson were married in Illinois, Edgar Co., Symmes Township or Paris, seem to be the Caldwell homes in Il., In Indiana I have found them in Sugar Creek Twnsp. in Vigo Co., IN. There are other Caldwell's in Sugar Creek, I had found an article about Sugar Creek and it mentions one of the historical buildings as housing the (I might be wrong here, memory you know :-)) The furrier business of Caldwell, he also keep a pack of fox hounds, so the article said. So search there. I will keep an eye out, this line of Caldwell's has been difficult for us to trace. Illinois and Indiana both have a great searchable database for marriages, just enter by either groom or bride's last name, see if you can find there marriage, try both states. Good luck. Susan
