will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I am transcribing cassette tape interviews made by Dr. Robert Owen in 1976. One is with Stella Cales Birdley, daughter of Henry Truman Cales (b 10-15-1865, Iroquois Co. IL d 1936 m Mahala Fisk 2-11-1889; both are buried in Lakeland, Polk Co. FL) Henry Truman was the oldest son of Andrew Jackson Cales, son of John & Kisiah Cales. He made the run in 1893 in the Cherokee Outlet in Ok, sold out and eventually moved his family to the Lakeland area around 1920. His wife died almost immediately and he remarried. Children from the first marriage were Frank, Editha who married a Taylor, Clara, Emma, Stella (b 1909), Bertha (b 1910), & Willie. Two other children were born to a second wife. All children but Bertha from the 1st marriage left FL. This information came from the transcribed tape.
