Martha Calhoon marriage 1838 Gallia Co. Ohio

Am seeking info on Martha Calhoon who married George W. Smith Dec. 26, 1838 in Gallia Co. Ohio. I believe this George W. Smith is the son of my ggg grandfather Solomon Smith. In the 1840 census George W. & Martha are living next door to him. They have a baby daughter. A couple of houses away is a James Calhoon. Does anybody know what happened to Martha? She never appears again after 1840, suggesting she died. One person thought she was killed in a wagon accident. I believe George W. remarried in 1844, but there is confusion because of multiple George W's.
