I see no recent postings on this James for a while but I hope you folks are still here. Do you think Joseph William Calhoun, spelled with a "u" could be included with these people? My ancestor is that name and he was born in NC in 1807, but I am not sure of the name of his father. My mother told me she thought it was John, but that is all I know. He married Sarah Elizabeth Perkins from NC and they moved to Alabama, then Vernon Parish, Louisiana, where he died in 1880 and she 1895. They could have spelled their name differently once they moved; just really searching for some sort of proof. He had five sons but none listed as born in NC. Joseph is my 3rd GGF. Is anybody out there? Thanks so much for any help. I am stuck.
