Kim Brewer, We think Andrew had a brother Willam who lived in Fulton Co. Have land papers with dealings between John Calhoon and William and Jane Calhoon of Licking Co. OH and William and Lydia Calhoon. The land was in Fulton Co. IL William and Lydia sold land in Fulton Co. but right now can't seem to find the date. Possibly your William b in 1857 could be a son of this William. I do know that there was a William Calhoon in Fulton Co. Census but don't have it right handy. Have found some Calhoon's in Peoria, Il. We are stumped on Andrew's parents but believe them to be the John and Jane that I mentioned above but no proof yet. Andrew's children were born around the time your William was born. I will check for more information and get back to you. Our name was spelled Calhoon until my father decided when he studied about John C. Calhoun in his history book that he would change the spelling of his name. Do know from research they are interchangeable so should check both spellings. Will do some checking and let you know.
