a brother of john clhoun moved to and lived in cherokee co. al. just over the calhoun- cherokee co line his name i dont know . but a large number of stewarts settled their also and alexander stewart a grand father of themwho lived back in sc married john calhouns widowed grand mother his name was alexander stewart.j.h. caldwell ohns cousin led the fight to change the name of benton co. to calhoun. contact the alabama room at the anniston, al. library and they can give you alot of info. on te calhouns.my 4th geat grand father william perrin was once married to johns 2nd cousin the daughter of col. joseph calhoun,he was married 2nd to my 4th great grand mother susan kellum who is buried at the pyle-cunningham cemetary ner mt. cheaha, they were all from abbeville,sc.
