Owen, thanks for your quick response.
I was told by someone in the family that my grandmother's great grandmother was a Calhoun/Elgin. Once I started looking up the line I came across James and Elizabeth on an Elgin web site and on the LDS web site. Tracing these names forward I soon ran across my great grandmother's name. My grandmother's name was Anna Ellen Quigg. Her mother's name was Ola Ellen Gibson b. 1/6/1883. Ola's mother's name was Anna Moorehead ELgin b. 10/4/1854. Anna Elgin's parent's names were James ELgin b. 10/22/1805 inPennsylvania, and Elizabeth Calhoun b. 9/6/1810 in Antrim, Ireland. The Elgin web site says that two brother's , Daniel and James (not my grandfather's but rather the uncle to the James married to Elizabeth), came to America around 1788 and settled in Armstrong county, Pennsyvania. Also on the same page it shows that Daniel married Mary Patton and it goes on to list their children and their spouses. Under their son James they list his spouse, Elizabeth Calhoun and their children where Anna Moorehead ELgin is also listed.
I suppose I could be wrong about the date if whomever posted the information on the LDS site was mistaken.
The Elgin web site is at
http:www.geocities.com/~elginsite/danielpabranch.htmlunder other American Elgins II Family of Daniel Elgin of Lodonderry, Ireland.
Thanks Owen for your time.
