Hi, I am the gg granddaughter of John C Calhoun who built and owned the house at Verda. I have the picture you are talking about. The house no longer exists. My uncle Willis Calhoun, who lived on Nantachie Lake(may be spelled wrong) outside Montgomery, took me by where the house once stood but it was down a dirt road and I don't think I could ever find it again. My mother actually lived in that house with her parents Daun and Oddette Calhoun. Daun's father was Charles Willis Calhoun, second son of John C and Louisa. The names are so confusing since brothers often used the same names for their children so that not only do names recur in subsequent generations but several times in the same generation. If I can provide you will any additional information, please let me know. Alice Carpenter
