Re: Lena Horne Calhoun connection

Hi Perry;

When the slaves were released in the southern states, the slaves belonging to the John C. Calhoun family took on the name of CALHOUN. The descendants of those slaves still go by the name of Calhoun and hold their own Calhoun reunions each year. It is one of these families that Lena Horne belongs to. She is not blood related to the Scottish Calhoun Family.

Regards,

Owen Calhoun
