Hi Suzanne;

I think I have spoken with you before about this line.

James Irving Calhoun 1795-1882 married Mary McElwrath-Clary b.1785 and she had 3 children to a previous marriage; John, Robert & Martha who were children of the Clary family.
James Irving Calhoun & Mary had four other children together.

From the information that you have published, your family history is derived from the Clary Family Tree through Mary's son John (Clary) Calhoun b.1822.

The rest of your family information that you have listed appears to be correct down to your grandmother but to go back in your family history, you need to follow Mary McIlwrath in to the Clary Family Tree.

Mary's son John may have been named after his father, (John Clary?) born prior to 1785.

You are listing your information in the proper format and you appear to be doing well with your research.

Good for you.

Owen Calhoun
