I am looking for information on James Calk, plantation owner in Prince Wm. Co, Va. from about 1738-1777. I know that he had a son named William. An executor's bond book shows that the will of James Sr. was proved in Prince Wm Co and that Wm Calk took out bond as executor on 5 Aug. 1776. James Sr. probably died shortly before this. The will books of Prince Wm are lost for that time period so I don't know what the will contained. After James Sr. died,William did not stay in VA but went to KY becoming one of the first settlers there. Any information as to where James Sr. came from, who his parents were, his siblings, his children (if he had more than William), who his wife was, any of his decendants or relatives, etc.would be greatly appreciated.
