Hi Cuz,
When I first began doing my genealogy years ago, I ran across an entry in a book I found in Springfield, MO on the early birth records in VA. I found an entry that listed Elijah Calk as being born in Northumberland Co., VA in 1770. Up until that time his birth had been given as being between 1769-1771 and this was arrived at from his age listed on the census reports.
Being fairly new in genealogy, I failed to make notes on what book I had found the data in. Within a few years, I realized my mistake and have made many trips back to the library in Springfield to locate the book to make porper documentation as to the entyr. I have never been able to find the book again.
I know I found the entry and read it with my own eyes but can't "prove" the year.
Wayne
