Hi, Peter;
To my knowledge, no one has yet discovered the name of the ship that the "Welsh Party" came in from Chepstow to Plymouth, MA - although I do not claim to have spent much time on it.It might still be worth some research.
The first knowm written record of the Party (including Hugh's name was on March 2, 1641.Several "experts" have stated that this was too early in the year for them to have come in 1641. as ships normally did not make the crossing in the winter.
We also have a record of the burial of Hugh's (no mention of Ann) infant daughter Deborah on Oct 4, 1639 in Waverton, Cheshire, England.This suggests to me that sometime after that Hugh's family left Cheshire and went to Chepstow where they became connected with Rev. Blynman, and the Party was organized and sailed for America in the summer of 1640.
It would sure be great to get some verification, though.
Regards,Ken Calkins
