Hi, Bob;
Good to hear from youi about Calkins family genealogy.
Unfortunately, you are reminding me how incomplete my research is. The family you are connected to has been very difficult to pin down. I believe - but I am not sure of anything - that your William Calkins is the son of Henry and Ruth (Larkin) Calkins, and he was b 1864 in Indiana. Wm.'s mother died in 1866, his father remarried Mary Gibson, and they moved to MO. Did william have siblings such as Harrison, Benjamin, Salina, Talitha?
Henry's parents were Thomas and Mary (Hindman)Calkins, but earlier than that is not clear. Some think this Thomas is the son of Joseph and Deborah (Crippen) Calkins, who remarried after 1st wife Thankful Lovell died. I think the dates don't look right, so am not convinced.
If you will give me a street adress (to kencalkins@prodigy.net), I will send copies of all this, including all I have on descendants of Thomas/Mary - which is not all that great.
And if anyone else can help on this, I would like to hear it.
Regards, Ken Calkins
