Brenda - do you have access to Ancestry.com? There is a WWI registration there for an Edward Warren Calkins b 08 Jan 1877, living in Boston at time of registration. Some trees at Ancestry show him as son of Augustus Joseph Calkins & Elizabeth Hayden. In 1880 Boston census he is with Joseph & Elizabeth, he is age 3 and has a sister Annie age 4. In 1900 he has siblings Joseph A 19, George W 16, Mary 14, Alice G 9. He died 11 Jun 1979 Scituate, Plymouth MA and on 23 Oct 1900 married Mary Katherine McKenna in Dorchester MA. She was b 02 Feb 1875 Troy NY and died 30 Sep 1960 Dorchester, Suffolk, MA, daughter of John McKenna and Bridget McIntyre. Edward & Mary are in 1910, 1920, 1930 with children Marie b 1901, Elizabeth 1902, Florence 1904, Edward W 1906, Grace 1910, John 1913. It looks like he was a descendant of the immigrant Hugh Calkins - if you Google Hugh Calkins you will find a lot of into about him.
