Hi, Tom;
I was about to reply to your first posting, when you beat me to it.
After the book was published, I also found that the older Benjamin had died young, and that the two wives listed were probably the wives of the younger Benjamin. However, I have not found any clear proof of this.
Back then, it was not uncommon for parents to "reuse" the name of a baby that had died.
Have you found any record of Lydia's last name and her death date?
