I honored the Calkins on Veterans Day by taking a trip to Pember, OH.Visited the graves (Eisenhower Cemetery) of Elisha Calkins (1805-1875), GAR 1861-1865, Agustus Calkins (1845-1867) GAR 1861-1865, next to Elisha and Polly Fuller/Calkins were Joseph Fuller (died 1847) War of 1812 and his wife Molly Fuller (1781-1865).I think they might be inlaws of Elisha. May have moved to Ohio altogether around 1835-6.Elisha is my GGGGrandfather. There seems to be an old connection to the Pembers who founded Pemberville. They came from New London, Ct also....some more "Calkins Cousins"I am only 80 miles from there now if I can be of any help.. This is close to Woodville and Stony Ridge...many Calkins
Also saw Mannasseh Calkins grave there..War of 1812 marker also. He died 1849 at the age of 59. A very moving day for me!God bless those who made us Free! Judie
