I know this sounds rather simplistic, however, have you tried writing to the General Register Office and ordering the death cert? I tried looking on a site I frequent called the Irish Family History Foundation, they have some great databases, however, you do have to pay. In the very least, there were no death records there for a cornelius O'callaghan or even a callaghan. My family is also from the Mallow area - Churchtown is nearby and the heritage center that has records from my family is Mallow.
