Hi Richard, Yes you are quite right about coming up with records being as rare as hens teeth! It took me 5 years to find out my great grandmother's maiden name - which was Callaghan! Because she married "Bush" before my great grandfather (Connors), that was the name on my grandmother's Birth cert.It was assummed that Bush was her maiden name - i was sure it could not possibly be. When I finally tracked down her marriage certificate to my great grandfather, Michael connors, it listed her father as John Callaghan. What a breakthrough. There is a heitage center in Mallow and I intend to spend some time there on my next visit as well as the cemetary and the priest. Since our Callaghans are from the same general area, let me know if you find anything helpful or any good sights. Take care, Ellen
