Canary Islands Camus Family
Posted by: Constance Ortega (ID *****6354) Date: October 28, 2005 at 22:44:21

My great great grandmother Laura Camus was a Canary Islander. Camus family members may have settled in Orleans Parish for she was in New Orleans before going to Havana, Cuba for her marriage there to Laureano Penichet.

A daughter, Micaela Penichet Camus, was my great grandmother. She married Ignacio Gonzalez of Asturias, Spain. Their daughter, Maria Gonzalez Penichet, was my grandmother. She was born in Havana and raised there and in Asturias.

I should appreciate hearing from anyone who may have a Camus Canary Islands connection.

Thank you.
