Hello Joe,

I am a descendant of a Camus from River Bourgeois. I am not having much luck, but when I saw your posting I thought I would let you know of the Old St, Joseph's Cemetary in North Sidney. It contains the following in the Camus family plot:

In memory of Adolphus Camus
died Mar 21 1919 aged 81 yrs
"Rest in peace"

(Broken stone) Camus (Child of) John & Jessie Camus
Died Oct 12 1903 aged 2 mos 12 days

Camus ? ............
died April 11 1901 aged 3 yrs 5 mons & 16 days
Daughter of John & Jessie Camus Camus

Adolphe Camus died Aug 9 1901 aged 68 yrs
"Rest in peace"

In memory of Lucy Boutilier
beloved wife of Adolphe Camus
Died Dec 26 1895 aged 69 yrs
(Stone engraved by C. E. Crook, Sydney)

My Camus connection is:
Birth record
Clement, Placide - Nov 2 1841 D'Esscousse
Parents:Hubert Clement & Francoise Camus
godparents:Magloire Bourque/Domitille Richard

Placide Clements was my g-g-grandfather, which would make Francoise Camus my g-g-g-grandmother. Below is the death record of her husband, Hubert.

Name: Clement, Hubert b. 1793
Age:-- 58
Date of Death: April 25 1851
Date of Burial:--
Name of Parents:--
Name of Spouse: Francis Camus
Priest:J Courteau

If any of this makes sense, please let me know.
p.s. I am married to a Fraser from Liverpool; ancestors came to NS via Massachussetts. Lots of Frasers in Queens Co. NS. United Empire Loyalist descendants.
