Hello John,

I too am writing a historical novel which in which Elysian Grove plays a major part, as it is a book about my family, the Bennets, Canes and Stockwells.

I would be happy to share some information with you if you could tell me the context of Elysian Grove within your novel.

For example, do you have your family simply interacting with them because they were close by as neighbors; to your knowledge were they good friends (or enemies); did they use Cane's Landing or have one of their own; did they have business dealings with them; etc..

If you'd give me specifics, I can either acknowledge the accuracy, dispute and/or try to correct a mistake, or try to help you research information you don't have but need.

I would be pleased to add references of your family to my own book, depending on what you know their relationship to have been. (For example, if you know they were friends, I'll portray them as such, etc.)

I don't know what research you've done so far, and mean no disrespect if you've already exhausted these, but ones you might try if you haven't already are the University of Louisiana at Shreveport, the Bossier and Caddo Parish courthouses and libraries, and Clifton Cardin of Bossier, along with Dr. Gary Joiner of Shreveport. Oh, and the Bossier History Center.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you,
Barbara Langston
