Canipes of the Carolinas - seeking family of Lawson

My second great grandfather was Lawson Canipe, possibly Earl Lawson or Lawson Earl Canipe. Supposedly, he was born in Germany 2/3/1831 & came to the Carolinas with his parents and one spoken-of brother sometime in the early 1840's. Lawson's father died in route, the history tells us, and because of poverty Lawson and his brother were hired out to support their mother and possible other siblings.

Lawson can be found on the 1850 Union County, South Carolina census working as a "Overseer" for a Mr. James Reid. Two years later Lawson marries Louisa Jane Neal, also of Union Co., S.Carolina. In about 1858 Lawson and Louisa migrate to Mississippi where they continue to grow their family and live out their lives.

1. Looking for long lost brother.
2. Looking for any siblings
3. Looking for anyone who might know this bunch
Names of Lawson & Louisa's children:
Glynn Canipe
Leander Murdoch Canipe
Cora or Corrie Canipe
Francis Marion (very common)Canipe
Mary Ally Packlet Canipe
John Mobley Canipe (my ancestor)

Thanks Ron L. Hooper
