I have conflicting information regarding the Armour connection. From various sources, Robert B. Armour's wife's name was Margaret and their children were Joseph, James R., Mary J., H., D.B., A., and F. (obviously from census data).
My great-grandmother's maiden name was Sarah Elizabeth Armour. Her death certificate shows her parents to be "Dock Armour" and "Betsey E. Cape," both born in GA.A second cousin provided the info that "Dock" was Edward S. Armour, and she descended from Edward's son, Paul. All this fits census info pretty well, which shows Edward's children to be the ones posted by Ms. Haskins.I can't find Edward & family in 1870, but Elizabeth is still alive in 1880 along with a few more children. Here are the children I have for Edward and Elizabeth:
Amanda (b. 1853?) mar. (unk.) Acree
Sarah Elizabeth (b. 25 Aug 1856) mar. William Belzelie Posey
Mary (b. 1856?)
Paul (b. 1859) mar. Sarah Louise Posey (sister of William)
Margaret N. (b. 1862?)
William C. (b. Oct. 1865) mar. Florida I. Dodd
James H. (b. 1871?)
Thomas R. (b. Feb 1873) mar. Indianna Dodd
I believe the Dodds to be related to Enoch Dodd, who married William Belzelie's mother after her husband, Jesse, died.If anyone reading this has more info or corrections, please post a message.
Census info shows Elizabeth Cape Armour to be born about 1827.Another correspondent believes that the other daughter shown in 1830 for Hiram is her ancestor, Julia Ann Cape, b. Feb 1825.
I hope this helps.Sorry if it's too belated and no longer needed.
