Henry Capehart Search

I noticed with interest the numbers of my "cousins" who have posted to this forum regarding Henry Capehart. I am descended from Henry's wife, Prudence Rogers (1805-1893), through her second husband, William Gilliland Drennan (1799-1842).

It is my firm belief that Henry was the son of Leonard Capehart. Of course, I can be convinced otherwise by some documentary proof. If you review the estate papers of Leonard Capehart, you will find the name Henry and the name Harvey. I have seen only transcribed records so don't know what the originals said. Also, the estate papers talk about not knowing where the children of this son were to be found. Also, Prudence named her first son James Leonard--an honor often reserved for the grandfathers--in this case Major James Rogers and Leondard Capehart.

I will pull out my Capehart files tonight and will review the reasons for my conclusions and will be happy to correspond on this family with anyone.

My big question for anybody: Does anybody know for sure where Prudence Rogers Capehart Drennan is buried? Sybil Tate has contended for years that she believes her to have been buried at Rock Spring. I on the other hand believe she is probably buried at Wood Station with the other Capeharts. I would like to put a marker at her grave so would appreciate hearing from anyone with an opinion as to her burial place. Thanks! Steve Strickland, 1039 Seven Springs Circle, Marietta, GA 30068
