Hello,
I am trying to piece together the children of William and Harriett Tracy Caples too. Harriet Caples French is my 3g grandmother--she was also a daughter along with Hiantha born in 1835. I am a little confused as to the birth dates of them all because some of the information only lists William's second wife Nancy and their children; not the first wife and family members. I believe Harriett was born in 1838 not 1835 as often mentioned. My grandmother was also named Harriet by her mother Alice Elizabeth French (much to her chagrin) but she was not going to ever be called Hatty. I did not pass on the name to my daughter and my grandmother would not let me be named Harriet.
